Today I have decided to practice adding textures to my photos using Photoshop. I snapped this photo of Evie playing in the yard one afternoon this week.

Hoping to learn even more, I ran across another great blog, http://betterinbulk.net/ , and thought you might like to take a look as well. Today she is hosting a linky titled "Give Me Your Best Shot". Each participant uploads a favorite that they shot this week so that all viewers can learn from each other or just enjoy. Do you have a favorite you would like to share? The original's background is pretty blown out since I thought it more important to get a good exposure on her rather than the sky. If I hadn't Evie would have been dark and the sky nice and blue. Can you tell I am learning lots about exposure control? At least I am trying!

In the photoshopped photo, I added two textures, the blue and the green. I masked off areas I didn't want to have the textures and just generally fooled around until I got something I was happy with. Is it perfect? Not at all but not bad for a first try. What do you think? You might prefer the original? That is okay. I like it too!
Zeke's photo was actually taken by my husband, Scott. I love this photo and thought it would be a great one to add texture to as well. I chose a golden texture to give it that sunwashed look. What do you think?
